Jonathan Punter, Chairman
Prior to forming Punter Southall with Stuart Southall in 1988, Jonathan began his actuarial career with Duncan C Fraser and Co in 1978, making his way to partner within seven years before Mercer acquired the company.
With more than 20 years' experience in the actuarial profession – and with particular expertise in the areas of UK pensions and investment strategy - Jonathan is also a recognised specialist on issues surrounding pensions in mergers, buy-outs and due diligence deals.
A director of several investment companies in London and Dublin and co-author of "Pensions Issues in Mergers and Acquisitions" (Longman), Jonathan is a fellow of The Institute of Actuaries, a scheme actuary, member of Institute working parties and a speaker at seminars and conferences.
He also has extensive experience of acting as an expert witness in a wide range of situations and cases, particularly on matters surrounding pensions, investments and employee benefits. Jonathan has a mathematics degree from Bristol University.
